MySoftCredit Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 08, 2026
Introduction
MySoftCredit is a fintech web platform provided by Obraj, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our websites (including mysoftcredit.com) and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). MySoftCredit allows authorized users (specifically, customers invited via Obraj, Inc.'s aria.mortgage mobile app) to securely access their personal credit report from credit bureau such as TransUnion for a limited time (four weeks) at no cost to the user.
By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy and explicitly consent to our handling of your information, including sharing with third parties as outlined, for the purposes of identity verification and credit report retrieval. Use of the Services is also subject to our Terms of Service.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, please contact us at [email protected].
Information We Collect
We collect personal information about you in several ways, including information you provide directly, information from third parties (such as our partners), and information collected automatically when you use our Services.
Information You Provide
- Personal Identifiers: When you create an account or use MySoftCredit, you may provide information such as your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, and other contact details. We may also collect unique identifiers like your Social Security number or other government-issued ID and your date of birth as needed for identity verification and to obtain your credit report (these sensitive identifiers are used solely for these purposes and are not retained longer than necessary).
- Account Credentials: You will provide a username, password, and other login information when creating an account.
- Financial Information: In the context of providing the credit report and related services, this information is used to personalize and deliver the Services (e.g., to assist with your monthly payment and cash to close calculation process through the aria.mortgage app).
- Communications: If you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us (for example, via phone calls, emails, or in-app messages), we will collect the content of those communications along with your contact details. This includes any feedback, questions, or information you submit to our team.
- Data Minimization: We collect and use the above information only as needed to provide you with the MySoftCredit Services (primarily, to verify your identity and furnish your credit report). We do not use sensitive personal information (such as your Social Security number or date of birth) for any purpose other than fulfilling your requests and legal requirements, and we do not retain such sensitive data longer than necessary. In fact, personal data related to obtaining your credit report is stored only temporarily (currently up to 90 days in our secure database) and is then deleted from our systems. The limited retention of your credit report data allows us to assist with your ongoing mortgage calculation in the aria.mortgage app, after which the data is securely removed.
Information from Third Parties
We may receive personal information about you from third-party sources, including:
- Identity Verification Services: To protect against fraud and confirm your identity, we use third-party verification providers. For example, when you sign up via the aria.mortgage app and access MySoftCredit, our verification partners may confirm your provided identity details (such as SSN or phone number) before we grant access to your credit report.
- Credit Bureaus and Credit Report Providers: MySoftCredit retrieves your credit report information from TransUnion through our authorized credit reporting partner. With your consent, we share the necessary personal data (e.g. your identifying information) with these partners to obtain your credit report on your behalf. The credit data we receive is incorporated into our Services for your use and is handled in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other applicable laws.
- Affiliates and Business Partners: We may share your information with our business partners to offer you certain products, services, or promotions. This may include partnerships that bind us to share your identifying information to ensure your true identity as well as for providing you your credit report for your personal use. Any such sharing will be done in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws, and our business partners will be contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the specified purposes.
- Mortgage Transaction Parties: MySoftCredit is not a mortgage-processing platform. It exists solely to give you direct, personal access to your credit score and credit report. We do not disclose this information to any parties involved in mortgage transactions, including Licensed Residential Mortgage Loan Originators, Licensed Mortgage Companies or Banks, Licensed Real Estate Agents, Licensed Real Estate Brokers, or any other licensed professionals. Your credit report will be shared only if you (1) click the "Share Credit Report" button and (2) actively accept the additional terms by checking the box in the confirmation dialog. Even then, your data is sent exclusively to the "aria.mortgage" calculator application for the limited purpose of running mortgage-calculation scenarios.
- Other Third-Party Sources: We may obtain limited data from trusted business partners to verify your identity and prevent fraud on the MySoftCredit website, as MySoftCredit only allows a user to view his or her own credit report and only for personal use to obtain better insights related to one's own credit history. With your explicit consent, we may also receive credit-related information—such as your credit score, liabilities, and other items contained in your credit report—when you choose to share that report with the "aria.mortgage" calculator app. In the future, we may introduce features that connect with social media platforms. If you interact with our social pages or link a social media account to our services, we may receive basic profile details from that platform (for example, your username or public profile picture). Any information we receive from third parties will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and any additional restrictions imposed by the data source.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use our Website or Services, we and our third-party analytics or advertising partners may automatically collect certain information about your device and your usage of the Services through cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies. This information may include:
- Device Data: Technical information about your device and internet connection, such as your device type, browser type, IP address, operating system, and general geographic location (e.g. city or region). We use this data to maintain the security of the Services and optimize your experience (for instance, by adjusting our interface for your device type and language).
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Services. This includes the pages or screens you view, the features you use, the date and time of your visits, the duration of use, navigation paths between pages, and your referral source (e.g., the link that brought you to our site). This usage data helps us understand user engagement and improve our content and layout.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies (small text files stored in your browser) and similar tools like pixel tags/web beacons and JavaScript libraries to recognize you when you return to the site, remember your preferences, and collect information about your interactions. For example, cookies help with session management (keeping you logged in as you navigate pages) and gathering analytics about how users arrive at and use our Services. Web beacons (tiny transparent images or code snippets in a webpage or email) allow us to gauge whether a page or email was viewed and to compile statistics on campaign effectiveness. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; however, note that if you disable certain cookies, some features of the Services may not function properly. Our session cookies are essential for maintaining your login state throughout your 28-days access period, and you can manage these through your browser settings, though disabling them will require you to log in each time you visit our service.
- Identity Verification Data: Before we display your credit report, we may confirm your identity using third-party identity-verification providers. These providers may:
- validate personal data you supply (such as your Social Security number, date of birth, or phone number);
- present knowledge-based authentication questions; or
- employ other methods, including one-time passcodes, document uploads, or biometric checks. By using MySoftCredit, you consent to Obraj sharing only the personal information necessary for verification with these external vendors solely to verify your identity and prevent fraud. Although we carefully select reputable partners, Obraj makes no warranties or guarantees regarding the services those third parties provide. Any delays, failures, or inaccuracies in the verification process are outside Obraj's direct control. If a provider cannot verify your identity, you may be temporarily unable to access the Service; if you believe access was wrongly denied, please contact us for assistance.
How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect for the following business and operational purposes (and in accordance with the manner described at the time of collection or with your further consent):
- To Provide and Improve Services: We use your information to operate, maintain, and deliver our Services. This includes using personal data to verify your identity, create and manage your MySoftCredit account, retrieve your credit report from the credit bureau upon your request, and display your credit information to you. We also use data to personalize your experience (for example, by showing your own credit insights) and to improve the quality and functionality of our website and Services. Continuous improvement may involve analyzing usage trends and feedback to refine our user interface, security measures, and product offerings.
- Communication: We use contact information (such as your email or phone number) to communicate with you about your account and the Services. For instance, we may send service-related announcements, alerts (if we find necessary) when your credit report is ready, notifications of any important changes to the Services or policies, and respond to your inquiries and support requests. These communications are part of our Service delivery. If you are a registered user, we may also send you informational messages about new features or updates to MySoftCredit or the "aria.mortgage" process that are relevant to your use of our Services.
- Research and Development: We may use information (often in aggregated or de-identified form) for internal research, analytics, and product development. This allows us to understand how users interact with MySoftCredit, diagnose technical issues, improve our algorithms and verification processes, and develop new features or services. For example, usage data helps us identify which features are most useful to users or where users encounter difficulties, so we can enhance those aspects. As part of these efforts, we might create anonymized datasets that no longer identify any individual. We may use and share such de-identified or aggregated data freely, since it no longer contains personal information.
- Marketing and Promotions: With your consent or as permitted by law, we may use your contact information and usage history to send you promotional communications about MySoftCredit or related services (such as updates about "aria.mortgage" calculator app or new financial products offered by Obraj, Inc.). For example, we might email you with special offers, newsletters, or educational content about using MySoftCredit effectively. We will always give you the option to opt out of marketing emails or texts. (Service-related messages, as described above, will still be sent as needed for the Services.) We do not share your personal information with unaffiliated third-party companies for their own marketing purposes unless you have explicitly agreed to such sharing.
- Legal Compliance and Protection: We may use or disclose your information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory audits, and legal processes (such as responding to subpoenas or court orders). We also use information to enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements, to detect and prevent fraud, security incidents, and other malicious or illegal activities, and to protect the rights, property, and safety of MySoftCredit (Obraj, Inc.), our users, our business partners, or the public. This includes using data for identity verification to prevent identity theft, using logs to investigate suspicious activity on our systems, and sharing information with law enforcement or regulators when legally required or to address violations of law.
- Other Purposes with Consent: If we intend to use your personal information for a purpose not described in this Privacy Policy, we will obtain your consent if required. We may also use your information in other ways that are compatible with the above purposes and context in which we obtained it, but we will always do so in accordance with law and, where required, with your knowledge or permission.
How We Share Your Information
We may share your personal information with various organizations as described below. All third parties we share information with commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it only for the period we instruct. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. When we do share information, we ensure the recipient is obligated to protect it and use it only for the purposes we've specified.
- Service Providers: We employ trusted third-party companies and individuals to perform services on our behalf ("Service Providers"). These include, for example, web hosting providers, cloud storage providers, email delivery services, customer support tools, analytics providers, and IT/security service companies. We only share the information necessary for these Service Providers to perform their functions (such as storing our data, sending out an email you requested, or analyzing site performance) and contractually require them to protect your information and use it solely for the purpose of providing services to us (consistent with this Privacy Policy).
- Credit Reporting and Identity Verification Partners: As part of providing the MySoftCredit service, we integrate with third-party Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and services. For instance, we share your personal data with our credit report provider (e.g., Advantage Credit, Inc., which works with TransUnion) in order to request and obtain your credit report after verifying your identity. We also may share necessary data with identity verification providers to confirm your identity (for security and compliance) before or during the credit report retrieval process. Any personal information transmitted through these third-party integrations is used strictly for those purposes and is subject to the third parties' own privacy policies. While we carefully select partners with high standards, we do not own or control these third-party services, and their handling of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies. (We encourage you to review the privacy policies of TransUnion, Advantage Credit, or any identity verification service used, to understand how they manage your data.)
- Affiliates: We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. Affiliates include our parent company and any subsidiaries, joint venture partners, or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us. These affiliated entities will use your information only in accordance with this Privacy Policy. For example, if MySoftCredit is integrated into a mortgage application process run by our affiliate, we might share your information with that affiliate to seamlessly continue your loan processing. All affiliated group members are required to maintain your information securely and use it only for the same purposes we are authorized to use it.
- Professional Advisors: We may disclose your personal information to our professional advisors (such as our attorneys, accountants, auditors, or insurance providers) when necessary. For instance, we might need to share certain information with our lawyers to obtain legal advice, or with auditors to complete a financial audit. These professionals are obligated to keep such information confidential and use it only for the purpose of providing their services to us.
- Advertising and Marketing Partners: Currently, we do not share your personal information with third-party advertisers for targeted advertising. In the future, we may partner with advertising networks or social media platforms to promote our services. If we do so, we might allow those partners to collect certain information from our site (through cookies or similar technologies) to deliver tailored ads about MySoftCredit on other websites or platforms. Should this occur, we will update our Privacy Policy accordingly and provide you with any required opt-out or consent mechanisms. Rest assured that even in such cases, we would not share sensitive personal information (like your credit details or identity numbers) for advertising purposes---only identifiers or context data appropriate for ad targeting, and always in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
- Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. We will ensure any such transfer is subject to appropriate confidentiality arrangements and this Privacy Policy's protections. In the event of a bankruptcy, insolvency, or receivership, personal information may also be transferred as a business asset, but we will take steps to ensure it continues to be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
- Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose your information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to: (i) comply with a legal obligation or request (for example, we might produce records in response to a lawful subpoena or government inquiry); (ii) enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; (iii) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or (iv) protect our rights, property, or safety, or those of our users, our partners, or the public. This could include exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. We will only share the minimum information necessary for the specific purpose and will ensure any request is legally valid.
- With Your Consent: In cases where we need to share your information for purposes other than those above, we will notify you and obtain your consent. You have the right to direct us not to share your information with certain third parties (for example, if we ever consider sharing data with a partner for their own uses, we will give you a chance to opt-in or opt-out as required by law).
Third-Party Sites and Services
Our Website and Services may contain links to third-party websites or incorporate third-party services that are not owned or controlled by MySoftCredit. For example, our site might provide links to our social media pages, and our Services might direct you to TransUnion's identity verification interface or other external sites during the credit report process. Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites or services that are operated by others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of websites not managed by us, even if our Services link to them or if we utilize their technology within our platform. Clicking on those links or enabling those integrations may allow the third parties to collect or receive data about you. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of every third-party website or service that you visit or interact with through our platform. Any information you provide to third parties will be governed by their policies and terms. We provide these links or integrations for your convenience and reference; their inclusion does not imply that we endorse the third-party or their products/services.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or to meet legal, accounting, or regulatory requirements. How long we keep specific information varies depending on the type of data and the purposes for its use. For example:
- Account Information: We will keep the basic information you provided (such as your name, contact details, and account credentials) for as long as your MySoftCredit account is active. If you decide to close your account, we will delete or anonymize this information within a reasonable period after your request, except where we are required to keep it to comply with law or legitimate business needs (e.g., maintaining records of consent or transactions).
- Credit Report Data and Sensitive Identifiers: Personal data collected specifically for obtaining your credit report (such as your Social Security number, date of birth, and the credit report itself) is stored in our systems only for a short duration (up to 90 days). This retention period allows you to access your report and enables us to assist with any immediate follow-up in your loan process (for instance, porting necessary information into the aria.mortgage application workflow). After this period, these sensitive records and any copies of your credit report are securely deleted from our active databases. In limited cases, we may retain hashed or anonymized references for audit trail or compliance purposes, but not in a form that can identify you.
- Communication Records: If you've corresponded with us (for example, emails to support or chat logs), we may retain those communications for a period of time to train our support team, resolve disputes, or as required by law. These records are generally kept only as long as necessary to address the issues or inquiries, or as mandated by our internal retention schedules.
- Web Logs and Analytics: Our system logs and analytics data (which may contain device information, IP addresses, and usage events) are typically retained for a limited period for troubleshooting, security analysis, and improving the Service. We may keep aggregated analytics data (which no longer identifies any individual) indefinitely to help us understand long-term usage trends.
When we no longer have a legitimate need or legal obligation to retain your personal information, we will securely dispose of it. This may involve deleting it, anonymizing it, or, if deletion is not immediately feasible (for example, because the data is stored in secure backups), isolating it from active use until deletion is possible. Please note that even after you delete your account or we remove your data, residual copies might persist in backup media for a short period (due to the nature of backup operations), but they will be purged according to our routine backup retention schedule.
Your Rights and Choices
We believe in giving you control over your personal information. Depending on your location and the applicable law, you have certain rights and choices regarding how your data is used and shared. Below we outline various ways you can manage your information with MySoftCredit:
- Access and Update Your Information: You can review and update the personal information in your account at any time by logging into your MySoftCredit account settings. It's important that the information we have on file is accurate and up-to-date, especially since it's used for identity verification and contacting you. If any of your information changes (such as your email address or phone number), please update it in the account profile section.
- Account Deactivation and Deletion: You may deactivate your MySoftCredit account at any time directly from the account settings page within the Service, or by contacting us at [email protected]. In addition, Obraj, Inc. reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to deactivate your account at any time, with or without notice and without any obligation to provide a reason, as described in our Terms of Service. Following deactivation (whether initiated by you or by us), your access to the Services ends immediately and your credit report information and related credit data will be deleted, anonymized, or otherwise rendered inaccessible within ninety (90) days, with your remaining account-related data deleted or de-identified thereafter—except for information we are required or permitted to retain by law or for legitimate business purposes, as noted in the Data Retention section above. Keep in mind that after deactivation you will no longer be able to access the Services, and any data associated with your use (including your saved credit report information) will be irretrievable, so you should save or print anything you wish to keep beforehand. Also note that if you have used the aria.mortgage application or other affiliate services, those services may retain certain information about you according to their own privacy practices.
- Opt-Out of Marketing Communications: If you have subscribed to any promotional communications from us, you have the right to opt out at any time. To stop receiving marketing emails or texts, you can use the "unsubscribe" link in the emails or reply "STOP" to texts, or simply email us at [email protected] with your request. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send you transactional or service-related communications (such as account notifications, security alerts, or updates related to a credit report request) as these are not promotional in nature.
- Do Not Share with Third Parties: We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes unless you have given consent. If in the future you are given the option to share information with an outside partner for their purposes, you can always decline. If you previously consented and have changed your mind, contact us and we will cease such sharing for you. (As of the Last Updated date of this Policy, we have not engaged in any such data sharing arrangements.)
- Cookies & Tracking Choices: Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default, but you can typically remove or reject cookies in your browser settings. You can also adjust settings to prompt you each time a cookie is offered, or use browser extensions to block tracking scripts. Please be aware that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our Services; for example, you might not remain logged in or some features might not work properly. For more information on how to manage cookies, refer to your browser's help documentation. Additionally, some third parties collect information about users' online activities to serve interest-based advertising. Visit the Network Advertising Initiative's or Digital Advertising Alliance's websites for information on how to opt out of certain types of tracking or targeted ads. (Note: MySoftCredit does not currently run third-party ads, but these resources are applicable generally.)
- Data Sharing Consent: When you use MySoftCredit, certain data sharing with third parties is integral to the service (for instance, sharing your identity details with TransUnion/Advantage Credit to retrieve your credit report). We obtain your consent for this at the time of your account registration and credit report request. If you do not want us to share your information in this manner, we will be unable to provide the core Services (i.e., we cannot fetch your credit report without sharing your identifying information as required). Outside of such necessary sharing, if we ever request to share your data in a new way, you will have the opportunity to grant or withhold consent.
- Data Sharing with aria.mortgage: We will not share your credit report or personal information with third-party services unless you explicitly consent to such sharing. MySoftCredit may present you with an option to forward or export information (such as your credit score or report summary) to the aria.mortgage application or related mortgage services to assist in your mortgage application.
- Response to "Do Not Track": Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that lets you signal a preference that your online activities not be tracked. At this time, MySoftCredit does not respond to DNT signals in a uniform way, in part because there is not yet a common standard for how such signals should be interpreted. We continue to monitor developments around DNT browser technology and may update our practices as standards emerge.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a resident of California, you are afforded certain additional rights over your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and related laws. This section applies solely to California residents and supplements the information elsewhere in this Privacy Policy. It describes your CCPA rights and how to exercise them, as well as disclosures about our data practices as required by California law.
No Sale of Personal Information
First and foremost, MySoftCredit does not sell your personal information to third parties. In the past 12 months, we have not sold any personal information of our users, and we have no intention of doing so. Therefore, the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information is not applicable in our case. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide a prominent opt-out method.
